Dr Keith D. Calligaro
Keith D. Calligaro, MD, grew up in northern New Jersey and currently lives outside of Philadelphia with his wife and son. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1978 and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Rutgers in 1982. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Health Sciences in Chicago in 1987 and a vascular fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York in 1989. He was appointed Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship in 1993 and Chief of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Surgery in 1994 at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Dr. Calligaro has served as President of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and the Eastern Vascular Society and has been active in the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery. He has given over 250 invited lectures and published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He serves as an Assistant Editor of the Journal of Vascular Surgery. He has organized the Annual Pennsylvania Hospital Vascular Symposium for 28 years. He has served on the Vascular Surgery Sub-board of the American Board of surgery and as a senior examiner for the Certifying Examination in vascular surgery. He was elected Treasurer of the Society for Vascular Surgery in 2020.
